Success of the BME MOGI team at the WRO robotics competition

On November 11, 2025, at the Forbes Tech Summit business festival held at ETELE Cinema, HUN-REN SZTAKI’s drawing robot and Spot robot dog were both available for visitors to try out, and Deputy Director for Organizational Development Bálint Vanek participated in the panel discussion titled “The Future of Aviation.”

HUN-REN SZTAKI, which is also responsible for the implementation of the COPROLOGS project, was represented at the Science Expo held between October 28 and 30, 2025, in Building D of the Millenáris in Budapest. At the centrally located HUN-REN stand in the exhibition area, visitors could explore research on biological aging supported by artificial intelligence, as well as an installation created at the intersection of AI and art.

The robot was shaking hands, waving, and even taking a wallet from a robot dog, in front of an applauding audience. HUN-REN SZTAKI's Researcher's Night event was also visited by the president and CEO of HUN-REN, respectively.

Several researchers from HUN-REN SZTAKI gave presentations at the AI Summit 2025 conference, held in Budapest between September 8 and 10, 2025. In addition to the talks, the researchers also presented multiple demonstrations to conference attendees.

The 7th MedTech Summit, one of the most important medical technology events in the country, was held on February 26–27, 2025, where the BME Medical Technology Section was also represented. The event provided an excellent opportunity for the section, researchers, startups, industry stakeholders, and investors to share their latest developments and build business connections.

The MOGI team has once again achieved an impressive success in the field of space research. Under the leadership of Dr. Balázs Vince Nagy, Dr. Gábor Kovács and Norbert Szakály further increased the number of successful space research projects carried out with the contribution of MOGI.

Two lab demonstrations and one lecture – the Tech Day series for high school students, organized by the BME Supporters and Friends Circle (MTBK), continued with a dynamic program.

HUN-REN SZTAKI's portrait-drawing robot worked its way through the 2024 conference held between 26 and 29 August, where two researchers from the institute also gave lectures on the its operation and development challenges. More than 200 drawings from around the same number of people were made during the event. Report.

HUN-REN SZTAKI supports higher education in Hungary: in recent weeks, 189 BME mechatronics engineering students got introduced to the basics of production design and implementation in the institute's SmartFactory installation.
